Susan's Sketchbook and Drawings

It's a beautiful morning at the lakefront, though there is a cool breeze off the water and five people were recently shot here over Memorial Day Weekend. Such a tragic sadness that two people lost thier lives and others were seriously injured. Yet, the sun shines benevolently.
So I sit here with my Starbuck's Banana and Coconut Frap pondering sadness and benevolence and timelessness...a preschooler quacks at the ducks, a husband is being scolded by his wife, people are scrubbing their boats, I wish I had worn socks...
The sun is warm like the comfort of a friend against the too cool breeze that makes me bundle a little closer to myself. My daughter and I squeegie a little closer, drawing in our sketchbooks of the morning as we talk of balance and composition and perspective.
